Andrea Zanocchi

Born in Turin, Italy

Architect by training (Politecnico di Torino, Universidade Estadual de Campinas and Universidade de São Paulo), Andrea began his professional career in Italy, working alongside architect Luciano Pia on residential projects. He later moved to Brazil, where he collaborated on projects in the city of Rio de Janeiro developed in preparation for the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

In 2013, he co-founded the architecture and design studio Zanocchi & Starke.

Since 2020 he has been Creative Director of the architectural firm GNAM.

In 2023 he founded AZDS – Andrea Zanocchi Design Studio, a new path specifically dedicated to product design.

Andrea’s approach to design is technical and rooted in the tradition of the Italian school of industrial design: products conceived for industry, emerging from a concrete need, a specific demand, or an unaddressed gap in the market, where function and aesthetics rigorously evolve together.

In his work, the desire evoked by a designed object is fulfilled through the pleasure of its presence in everyday life. The recurring possibility of “product–user” interaction in his projects seeks to establish a personal relationship, offering an experience that goes beyond mere functionality.

This lasting connection, combined with the quality of the production process and the careful selection of materials, forms the foundation of work that is durable, timeless and, consequently, conscious and respectful of its environmental impact.
